JOB DESCRIPTION
Sentient Energy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in bringing our innovative smart sensors to life, ensuring their quality and reliability from assembly through testing. JOB SUMMARY
- Assemble new and existing smart sensors and related components with meticulous attention to detail, following established procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain tool calibrations for all manufacturing and testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external specifications.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) on newly manufactured or revised components and assemblies, verifying adherence to design specifications and quality requirements.
- Execute various test operations on smart sensors and sub-assemblies, including functional, performance, and environmental tests, meticulously documenting results.
- Maintain the manufacturing area in a clean, organized, and efficient manner, adhering to 5S principles and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve technical issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the development and refinement of assembly, test, and quality control procedures.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in the assembly and testing smart sensors.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree in electronics, a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in an electronics manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably with small, intricate components.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent manual dexterity.
- Proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters).
- Familiarity with quality control principles and practices, including First Article Inspection.
- Experience with test equipment and methodologies for electronic devices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
What Will Put You Ahead?
- Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) and Through hole technology soldering.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
