JOB DESCRIPTION
Sentient is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to lead the launch of a company-wide quality initiative across our software and hardware divisions. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive quality management system that ensures our products meet the highest standards and comply with industry regulations. Your leadership will be vital in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
This role offers an opportunity to play a pivotal part in establishing a unified quality program that spans both software and hardware product lines. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise in software and hardware quality assurance with strong leadership skills to foster a culture of quality and innovation within Sentient.
JOB SUMMARY
- Develops manufacturing processes by applying their knowledge of mechanical product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. Utilize Suppliers and equipment vendors to support this activity.
- Develop and implement a company-wide quality management system encompassing both software and hardware products
- Oversee quality control activities across software development and hardware manufacturing processes
- Lead investigations into quality issues using root cause analysis methodologies
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean
- Train and mentor staff on quality standards and best practices for both software and hardware
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality standards for components and materials
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements for software and hardware products
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality and process efficiency
- Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to integrate quality into all aspects of operations
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: 7+ years in quality management, with exposure to both software and hardware product development
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), software quality assurance practices, and hardware manufacturing quality control
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex quality issues across software and hardware domains
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams
What Will Put You Ahead?
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer, or equivalent
- Industry Experience: Familiarity with quality standards specific to software development (e.g., ISO/IEC 25010) and hardware manufacturing (e.g., IPC standards)
- Project Management: Experience in managing large-scale quality initiatives or software/hardware product launches
